Game Review – Cirque du Soleil Kooza by Bally

Indulge in the powerful artistry and exotic ambiance of Cirque du Soleil with this exciting slots game from Bally Technologies.

A deep blue glittering background and the famous Cirque contortionists invite an experience like no other.

Led by the Jester and accompanied by hypnotic synthesizer beats and a return-to-player percentage of 96, this vivid game is as exciting as a Cirque performance!

Circus Ranked Slots

Cirque du Soleil Kooza is a five reel, 40 payline online slots game based on the Kooza Cirque performance. The theme is echoed with the trickster, acrobats, and clowns as high-value symbols and a bonus round full of surprises just like a Cirque performance.

Future payouts are based on your initial wager and symbol alignment, with an option to autoplay the game after. With mobile-friendly gameplay available, Cirque du Soleil – Kooza is an exciting slots game to take anywhere.

Gameplay with the Kooza slot machine is fairly straightforward. Players select their wager from the arrow above the “stake” field.

It’s important to note that all 40 paylines are always in play here, so those who prefer to wager conservatively should bear this in mind.

Once you’ve made your wager, simply press the round arrow to the right of the reels. As the reels turn, the beat of the music increases, adding to the excitement.

Scenes from the live Kooza show appear over the reels, which are shaded out as they spin. A chime sounds when you’ve matched three or more.

  • Minimum wager is $0.20 and max is $400.0
  • Maximum Jackpot is $1000
  • Scatters pay anywhere on the reels – only the highest scatter pays per play
  • Wins on different lines are added together for the total round win
  • One or more wild symbol in a winning combination substitutes for all symbols except bonus
  • The “?” symbol on the bottom left indicates how much each symbol will pay, depending on your wager

The Players in Cirque – Kooza

If you aren’t afraid of clowns, then you’ll enjoy the crisp detail and vibrant colors of Kooza’s wild and scatter characters. Matches pay out in three, four, or five of each symbol, and the amount for each match is determined by the player’s wager, with a “Cheat Sheet” that pops up from the “?” icon.

Lower value symbols include the Queen, King, and Ace, all of which pay out equally but not much more than your wager. The man and woman masquerade masks, along with the little boy clown.

These pay out slightly more although still not equaling your initial wager if these are the only matches you get on a spin. Players should note that even getting a match may not help them win big if it’s just a low-value match.

The acrobats begin to give a higher payout, starting with the horned contortionist, followed by the metal-masked acrobat.

The Mephistopheles-like character, while a bit scary, also has the highest payout. It’s a toss-up whether or not you want to see his terrifying visage appear!

The Wild in the Kooza slot machine is simply a circus-stylized “Wild” box, but it also pays out up to 10 times your base wager.

There are mystery stacked reels that appear at the start of each spin. These symbols can be stacked, randomly selected and replaced with one of the icons. All mystery symbol positions are replaced with the same symbol per spin.

Playing the Cirque du Soleil – Kooza Bonus Round

There are actually a couple of different bonuses in the Cirque du Soleil slot machine, which is great for players, as the base rounds don’t have a very large payout. It’s the bonus rounds where those that take a big risk win a big reward. Bonuses include a bonus box, bonus wheel, and jackpot wheel.

The Bonus Box

  • Find three on the reels
  • Receive either a chance to spin the bonus wheel or a surprise cash reward
  • Boxes appear on rows 1, 3, and 5 – select one of the three boxes to reveal your prize
  • Bonus ends when a cash prize is awarded

The Bonus Wheel

  • Activated when a player chooses a Bonus Box
  • ‘Trickster” free games trigger free spins
  • Free spins can include multipliers and stacked symbols
  • Wheel of death includes multipliers going up to 4x
  • Bonus ends when a cash prize, Trickster Free Games, Wheel of Death Free Games, or the Jackpot Feature is awarded

The Jackpot Wheel

  • Drops from the Bonus Wheel
  • Spin the wheel to unlock one of 4 jackpot prizes
  • Highest payout of the game

Final Thoughts

The bonus features are as exciting as a Cirque du Soleil show itself, giving plenty of payout opportunities.

Clear, crisp characters and scenes from the performance make this an immersive experience, with pulsing background music and eye-catching graphics. Kooza is a straightforward game to play, ideal for a beginner, yet still fun for an expert.

Circus Circus Slot Machine Glass

Circus Circus, a fixture on the Las Vegas Strip since 1968, is getting a makeover.

But the venue’s iconic exterior, which features the world’s largest permanent big top, is staying the same. The change is coming inside where International Game Technology is installing its Casino Management System (CMS).

The Circus Circus deployment, planned for the second quarter of 2021, will connect all 1,100 slot machines and table games and will integrate with the property’s food and beverage, retail point-of-sale, and hotel management systems.

The Strip resort was acquired in December 2019 by billionaire Phil Ruffin for $825 million. The deal for the 4,000-room hotel included more than 100 acres on the north end of the Strip, much of it undeveloped. The property was previously owned by MGM Resorts International.

Ruffin, who also owns TI on the Strip, said he plans to close a 10-acre recreational vehicle park adjacent to Circus Circus and it will be replaced with a swimming pool complex similar to Mandalay Bay’s on the south end of the Strip, which includes a wave machine, sand beaches, and a lazy river water ride.

He also planned to upgrade the property’s casino, including the addition of a stadium-style gaming area.

Circus Circus Vice President of Finance Stephan Angeles said in a statement Tuesday the conversion to IGT’s casino management system will enhance guest experiences.

“(It) will modernize our gaming floor, significantly streamlining our operations and helping to enhance patron loyalty and the overall player experience,” Angeles said.

The IGT system includes patron management, a tool that builds customized events and promotions; machine accounting, a reporting tool; the ticket-in-ticket-out cashless voucher system; and cash cage and table game accounting.

IGT’s player tracking hardware will also be part of the conversion, offering customers a way to access account information, messaging, awards, and bonusing applications.

“Our flexible, modular system, which easily integrates with third-party solutions, will transform Circus Circus’ gaming technology infrastructure,” said IGT Senior Vice President Ryan Reddy, “helping them to grow their business while intensifying their focus on delivering highly engaging experiences to their patrons.”
